It also serves as an environmentally-friendly cleaning agent. Aside from citrus fruits, citric acid can be found in many vegetables, berries, and fruits, such as currants, gooseberries, tomatoes, peaches, apricots, cranberries, and more. It is an important intermediate in several biochemical processes, and therefore is present in virtually all living things.
