C12H20O7 – triethyl citrate – is an ethyl ester of citric acid. It is an oily, colorless liquid, practically odorless except for a hint of a delicate fruity aroma. It dissolves well in alcohol, ethers, and water, and is a food additive (E1505) used in the food industry to stabilize foam. However, please remember that the substances in your set are not suitable for use in food. Triethyl citrate is also used in pharmaceutical coatings and plastics.
