Process description
Cooling mixtures are systems of two or more substances, the mixing of which leads to the absorption of heat accompanied by a temperature decrease. The process in which heat is absorbed from the environment is called an endothermic process. A 3:1 cooling mixture of ice and salt can get down to a temperature of about -21°C. To do this, it is best to use finely ground ice and salt to increase surface contact.
