Sodium polyacrylate is also known as waterlock; its main property is its ability to absorb from 100 to 1000 times its mass in water. Most of our uses for this substance relate to its ability to absorb water. It and its co-polymers are used in medical bandages, diapers, pet pads, concrete protection and waste liquid control in manufacturing, water protection for wires and cables, and so on. It can also be used to make artificial snow - a nice material for decoration and crafts.
